Cardinal Vincent Nichols
Although he lived in the Victorian era, Neman's life has important messages for us today in the modern world: the importance of religious truth; the need to worship the Trinity, the Incarnation and the Eucharist as mysteries; the need for a spirit of reverence; his attitude towards those who are not Catholic, and which is so helpful in regards to ecumenism; kindness and friendliness, love of family and friends in a Christian perspective.
Felicity O'Brien has written several books, including works on Katherine Drexel, Mary MacKillop and Margaret Sinclair. For a number of years she worked with the Catholic weekly newspaper, The Universe. She then worked in the Publications Department at the Independent Broadcasting Authority in London. For seventeen years, she was personal secretary to the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Southwark (firstly Archbishop Michael Bowen and then Archbishop Kevin McDonald). In 2008 she gained a PhD from King's College, London, in Theology and Religious Studies, with a thesis on Pope Pius XII. She lives in Kent.
